Sir Sir Penwood III (ペンウッド卿Ⅲ, Pen'uddo Ⅲ?) is a supporting character in the Hellsing series created by Kohta Hirano. He is voiced by Masaki Aizawa in the Japanese sub and Greg Bryan in the English dub.

He is the grandson of Sir Shelby M. Penwood, following in his grandfather's footsteps by becoming a member of The Round Table Council and Royal Navy. Harboring similar traits with his grandfather, Sir Integral Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing mentors him.

Appearance[]

Though he bares resembles with his grandfather, notable the hair style and mustache, Penwood III appears to be much more leaner in a contrast to his grandfather's plump appearance even during his early days. His hair color, mustache and eyebrows, are colored black as opposed to his grandfather's blonde (brown in the OVA). Unlike his grandfather's blue eyes, Penwood III has yellow eyes. His mustache is a double pencil style, unlike his grandfather's major mustache in the OVA.

Personality[]

Penwood harbors similar traits to his father; both are clumsy, hasty, and loud. Although Penwood III appears to be much more shyer than his grandfather ever was, but at the same time, much more braver. This is probably because of him training directly under Sir Integra, along with the rest of the new generations of the Round Table Conference. Penwood III is also a very curious person; wanting to know much more about his grandfather, although Sir Integra constantly lies and makes up a comical story that Penwood III hardly believes in.[2]

History[]

Thirty years after the Battle of London and Alucard's disappearance, Sir Penwood was practicing his fencing with Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing. He complimented Integra's skill after she defeated him, only for the Hellsing leader to reply that he strongly reminded her of his grandfather.

When Penwood asked Integra to tell him about his grandfather, she spun a wild tale of Shelby M. Penwood as a fearless warrior who singlehandedly turned the tide against Millennium and that she'd lost her left eye during a fencing match with him once. Penwood was highly skeptical, but Integra insisted that she spoke the truth. Just before she asked him to pay for a new helicopter, which prompted him to leave in tears.

  • Sir Integral Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing: Penwood III trains directly under Sir Integra. Penwood III curious nature leads to him asking questions about his grandfather to Sir Integra, though Integra feeds him comical stories about his grandfather in response; so that Penwood could be looked upon much more favorably. Sir Integra however, also asks Penwood III for brand new and expensive weaponry much like she did to Penwood III's grandfather. Integra states that it is because Penwood III needs to suffer some hardships in order to prepare him for the future.[3]
