Hellsing: Ultimate IX is the ninth installment of the Hellsing: Ultimate series. It was first released in Japan on February 15, 2012. It was released with an English dub on October 14, 2014.

Plot[]

As the Arthur Seyss-Inquart Zeppelin crashes into London, Millennium's few remaining officials on the ship have lost contact with any other Millennium members. They demand orders and support from The Major, who casually tells them to enjoy the spectacle and that their subordinates have been killed. He orders any weapon salvageable be distributed to the remaining men to make one last final stand, which angers a Captain. The Captain opposes The Major, telling him that he will not allow any more to die in The Major's senseless slaughter. The Major quickly and dramatically has the insubordinate captain killed to teach his men to obey them.

Alucard's Flashback[]

As Alucard is bursting into flames from the bayonet of Alexander Anderson, Alucard has a flashback to when he was a very young child, before being a vampire, being sexually assaulted by an Ottoman. While he is being raped, Alucard holds a crucifix tightly and puts his faith in the Lord. Later, Alucard (as Vlad the Impaler) rides with his army on horseback against the Ottomans and explains his philosophy regarding God;

Fight for the glory of your God. God does not help those who cower, for those are not real prayers...True prayer is forged in battle. Dazzle your Lord with your prayer, and you shall know Him.

After Vlad has been defeated, he is being led to his execution while being taunted as a 'mad king' for allowing his people to die and to be defeated. Just as he is about to be beheaded, Vlad extends his tongue to lick the blood at the base of the execution stage. He is then killed, and the ax breaks his crucifix.

The End of Alexander Anderson[]

Hearing Seras's cry, Alucard wakes up to find Seras holding the bayonet away from himself, but Anderson's Holy vines burn her arm as she tries to help her master. Alucard's familiars continue to burn around him, but Alucard reaches out to help Seras push the bayonet out of him. Alucard tells Father Anderson that the only time humans had a chance of killing him was 500 years ago, and that only a human can kill a monster, since Anderson has transformed himself into a monster himself. Charging at Anderson, Alucard breaks through the Holy vines and rips out Anderson's beating heart with the Nail still in it. He crushes it, and Alexander Anderson lies on the ground dying. As Anderson dies, he thinks of his life and all the children that he led towards the path of God, and tells his Iscariot soldiers not to cry. He makes his peace with Alucard before finally fading away.

The Traitor[]

Leaping out, Walter crushes the frail remnants of Alexander Anderson's body, fully revealing his betrayal. Integra demands an explanation and asks what happened to Walter, and he tells her that Millennium saved him after he was left for dead by Hellsing, experimented on, and turned into a vampire. Walter announces that his betrayal was entirely of his own volition. Enraged at the disgrace of her superior, Yumie shouts her intent to kill Walter, but he easily incapacitates and kills her without any effort. Heinkel is about to go after Walter, but The Captain shoots her in the mouth, knocking her out.

Elsewhere, Sir Irons comments on the situation in America and speculates that Walter's betrayal originally occurred 50 years ago, and that he purposefully allowed Alucard to be released.

Heinkel reflects on the fact that The Captain only wounded her instead of killing her, which Heinkel is angered by and swears revenge on Walter for killing Yumie, despite her condition.

Walter taunts Alucard as he reflects on the defeat of his nemesis. Alucard tells Walter that he looked better as an old man, while Walter demands that Alucard face him. Alucard tells Walter that they are both dogs serving a master, and asks Integra for her orders. Integra shouts "search and destroy!", and tells her servant to destroy anyone in his way. Integra tells Walter that he is nothing but a traitor, nothing but her enemy, and that she takes great pleasure in destroying him. Alucard and Walter fight for a long time, with Alucard transforming into his 'Girlycard' form to mimic Walter's younger appearance. In order to defeat Walter, Alucard is forced to release all his restraint levels while fighting, and eventually becomes his dog form. Luke Valentine wakes up when the dog form is destroyed, since he was eaten by that dog. Walter finds this incredibly amusing, and uses his razor wires to use Luke as a puppet. Luke (controlled by Walter) shoots Alucard multiple times, injuring him. Walter's body is failing, but he thinks he has just enough time to kill Alucard. It seems as if the battle is over when Walter rips off all of Alucard's limbs, and drives a stake through his heart. Walter notices that something is wrong however, and realizes that the body of Alucard he just killed was in fact an illusion and he just killed his puppet Luke Valentine. Alucard uses the opportunity to attack Walter, but does not kill him since Walter's body is giving out anyways.

Characters (In Order of Appearance)[]

Trailers (Pre-Release[]

The first trailer features scenes of Integra; Seras calling out to Alucard; flashbacks of Alucard's life as Vlad the Impaler; Anderson's death; Major holding a gun; Walter turned into a vampire; and Alucard in his androgynous "Girlycard" form.

A second trailer was presented at Comic Con in late 2011 which features a brief memory of 'old Walter', being replaced by 'dark Walter', who is shown in battle against Alucard, as well as him returning to his 14-year-old appearance after being punched by Girlycard. Integra, Seras, Major, Schrödinger, Luke Valentine, Doc, and Alucard are momentarily shown, as well as a descending Deus Ex Machina, expelling ample amounts of smoke. More of Alucard's life as Vlad is seen, as well as his transformation into his 'Count' form during the battle against Anderson. An extensive scene of Yumie charging Walter is cut to lead into Heinkel being shot by the Captain. The trailer concludes with a scene of Alucard transformed into Girlycard.

OVA 9

The regular cover of the DvD.

The third and final trailer was released early 2012, and incorporates substantially more animation into the presentation. We first see the Major ordering the few remaining Battalion members to execute a subordinate who wouldn't follow orders.

'Dark Walter' and the Captain are seen poised upon iron rods which had been used to impale members of the Battalion and the Crusaders. Once again, Alucard appears in his Vlad form, both during his Crusading days and as a teen. A battered but smiling Major is shown with a gun being held to his head, as well as an intro from Anderson, enveloped in thorns. More scenes of Seras, Walter, Integra, the Major and Doc, Schrödinger, Heinkel, and the Captain are mostly repeated from the second trailer, and Anderson's death scene from trailer one. Sir Islands and Sir Walsh are seen discussing Walter, and then the 14-year-old Walter is seen in combat. Based upon the night-time scene of 'young Walter', this could be a scene from episode 2 of Hellsing: The Dawn. The third trailer boasts a well-liked musical number 'SCARS', which is also expected as the closing theme. The trailer finishes when Alucard crushes Anderson's heart along with Helena's Nail.
