The Dragunov SVD is a weapon used by Heinkel Wolfe. It is a semi-automatic sniper rifle developed by Evgeniy Fedorovich Dragunov for the Soviet Union's army in 1965. From 1967, it was commonly used in the armies of the former Eastern Bloc (Soviet Union and its satellites in the Warsawian Pact) as a sniper rifle.

Usage

In Hellsing, the weapon appears in the hands of the Iscariot-member Heinkel Wolfe.

Hellsing Volume 9

After being attacked by the Captain, the heavily-wounded Heinkel becomes enraged over her partner's, Yumie Takagi's death. In this griefstricken and infuriated state, she swears to kill the murderer of Yumie, the butler Walter C. Dornez. As she takes a Dragunov SVD sniper rifle from one of her comrades, Heinkel waits for the end of the battle between Alucard and Walter, and is preparing to avenge Yumie's death.

Hellsing Volume 10

After Alucard ceases to exist as he became a set of imaginary numbers by absorbing Schrodinger's soul, Walter questions the value of the victory of his. This way of thinking is interrupted by Heinkel, who shoots Walter several times with her sniper rifle. After all the bullets hit Walter's body, Heinkel switches the rifle to pistols in order to execute her enemy. However, the wounded Walter is still able to defend himself, and paralyzes Heinkel by cutting of her left arm and leg with his wires. Heinkel is saved later by Iscariot.

Specifications

The rifle weighs 4.3 kg empty. It is 1,225 mm (48.2) long, and is fed by a detachable box magazine which holds ten rounds of 7.62x54 mm R ammunition. It has a 610 mm (24.0 in) barrel.[1]
